The plan covers eligible furniture with a maximum retail purchase price of $20,000, subject to the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions explained below.

Important: This protection plan is a service contract. It does not replace your manufacturer’s warranty, insurance, maintenance plan.

What Does This Protection Plan Cover?

The plan covers certain accidental stains and damage that happen during normal use, as well as certain mechanical failures.

Upholstered Furniture

For eligible fabric, leather, and vinyl furniture, covered issues include:

  • Food and beverage stains
  • Human or pet bodily-fluid/waste stains, except perspiration, hair oils, and body oils
  • Ballpoint pen ink stains
  • Nail polish or nail-polish-remover stains or damage
  • Burns that are not caused by fire
  • Punctures, cuts, tears, and rips
  • Seam separation
  • Broken zippers or buttons
  • Certain failures involving:
    • Frames
    • Springs
    • Reclining mechanisms
    • Motors
    • Levers
    • Hand wands
    • Power cords
    • Remote cords

The motor and reclining-related coverage applies when the component was originally covered by the manufacturer’s warranty and that manufacturer’s warranty has expired.

Wood & Hard-Surface Furniture

For eligible wood and other hard-surface furniture, the plan covers certain issues including:

  • Food and beverage stains
  • Nail polish or nail-polish-remover stains or damage
  • Liquid marks and rings
  • Certain breakage
  • Scratches, gouges, and chips
  • Burns or heat marks that are not caused by fire
  • Checking, cracking, bubbling, or peeling of the finish
  • Certain glass or mirror damage
  • Loss of silvering on mirrors
  • Certain failures involving frames, springs, mechanisms, motors, levers, hand wands, and power or remote cords used for sleeper, reclining, and inclining applications.

What About Motorized Recliners?

Yes — Motor Failures Are Covered.

If your eligible power recliner or other reclining furniture stops working because of a failure involving the motor, mechanism, power cord, remote cord, lever, or hand wand, the plan specifically provides coverage when the applicable manufacturer’s warranty has expired.

However, this does not mean every electrical or electronic component is automatically covered. The plan separately excludes certain integrated components, including electronics, USB ports, electrical outlets, appliances, and other components that are not specifically included in the covered section.

In simple terms:
A failed reclining motor or reclining mechanism is specifically listed as potentially covered. Other electronics or electrical features may not be.

How Does the Repair Process Work?

If you experience a covered problem, the plan generally works through the following steps:

Step 1 — Cleaning Help

For covered stains, you may receive:

  • A cleaning kit, or
  • Advice on how to remove the stain yourself.

If this doesn’t solve the problem, you can move to the next step.

Step 2 — Technician Assessment

An authorized technician may visit your home to:

  • Inspect the damage
  • Determine whether it is covered
  • Repair the furniture when possible

Repairs are performed in a professional and workmanlike manner.

Step 3 — Replacement, Reselection, or Cash Settlement

If the technician cannot fix the covered problem, the plan may provide, at its discretion:

  • A replacement
  • Store credit for reselection
  • A cash settlement, where permitted

The plan determines which option applies.
